The Best of ELF Cosmetics

If you watch my YouTube channel, you would know that I did a testing ELF Cosmetics video. I actually really enjoyed making the video as I love trying out new products. ELF Cosmetics is a brand I have never tried before until I did the video. Correct me if I'm wrong but I am pretty sure you could only get ELF products online but now they do it in Boots? I have no idea because I still ordered these products online.

Anyway, so I tested a bunch of ELF products and I nearly had a full face apart from powder and eyebrow products. That is purely because I didn't want to purchase products I didn't like the look of. I was intrigued to try the under eye setting powder but I thought there wasn't really much point. Well basically, I'm going to tell you my favourites from ELF Cosmetics that I have tried and that I feel like everyone needs.

The first thing that I have to mention is the highlighter (which is the swatch above). OMG. The photo above does not do it justice. In the pot it looks very pink which is a shade of highlighter I'm not the biggest fan of, but they sold out of the shade I really wanted to try. When reading the reviews, a lot of people mentioned that you need to scrape the top layer off to get the proper effect. I can confirm that it's true. Without scraping the top layer off, the product is just non-existent. After scraping the top layer off, it's basically magic. The highlighter just pops, sits well on your skin so it doesn't just look like a stripe of glitter and very easy to blend. This is my new favourite go to for sure.

The contour palette is another one of my faves. It has 4 different shades: white highlight, yellow highlight, bronzer and contour powder. To be honest I have no idea what the yellow shade does, I'm just assuming it's to highlight certain areas of your face. The white highlighter is very subtle, but I love it for an every day look. It's not white when it's on your face, it just gives that subtle glow. The bronzer is definitely warm, so I don't like to use too much of it but I love how easy it is to blend. The contour shade is cool toned, which is something I have been looking for, for a VERY long time. It is the perfect shade. It does look quite dark in the palette, but just be careful with it when putting it on. It is however a little harder to blend, so I would recommend using a good brush and taking a little bit of product at a time.

Right, the concealer. I LOVE the concealer. It does have good covered and it is so so easy to blend. The formula is just so soft and I am legit in love. There is one massive downside to the concealer range though. There is not enough shades. I have chosen the lightest range in the range, and it wasn't brightening at all. It was actually the perfect match to the foundation and the foundation I used wasn't even the palest (I think it was called Sand, which I managed to get away with straight after going on holiday). So if you are on the pale side, the concealer will be too dark for you, unless you can find a lighter shade than I did.

The last two I have to do together. Just because I think they are the perfect pair. Primers I find really difficult to review, because there are so many factors that come in to play when seeing how long your makeup lasts. However, I know for a fact that the foundation and primer work really well together. The primer is silicone based, which isn't my favourite type of primer, but for some reason I love this one. It made my skin feel so even and soft, and the foundation went on so nicely. The foundation is really hard to blend with a brush, like it is impossible. So a Beauty Blender is the way forward. I wouldn't say it is extremely high coverage, but the covered is definitely good enough for me (and I do like a high coverage).

These are the products that I am obsessed with from ELF Cosmetics, and products I have been using in the my everyday makeup since I made the video. Have you tried anything from ELF and is there anything else that you would recommend?
