1 Year With My Blog

As you can probably tell from the title, it is my blog's one year anniversary. ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OMG. Time flies when you're having fun right? I think it's time for me to look back at my old posts, see how I've improved and maybe give you some sort of advice. Also, letting you guys know in a little secret on what I've been up to.

Photos... the main thing about blogging I struggled with but enjoyed the most. I always look at bloggers who have been doing this for years and think why my photos don't turn out as good as theirs. Even though I enjoyed getting creative, I felt like I wasn't creative enough. I researched all the time about how I can improve my photos but I just felt like I wasn't improving. The one main thing I learnt over the year is give yourself time. I genuinely expected that my photos would be perfect after reading one post about lighting or one post about what props to use... Well that didn't happen. Looking back however, I have realised that my photos have improved a lot, they're still not perfect in my eyes but I am proud of the improvement and I can't wait to see how my photos will improve in the future.

The photos above were taken during my first month of blogging and the photos below are my recent photos, there's a difference right?!

So I guess my main bit of advice, GIVE YOURSELF TIME. If you are just starting out or have been doing it for a while already, your photos and your content will improve over time. Of course look at other people's blogs to get inspiration, but don't feel like you're not as good. Some bloggers maybe studied photography or was interested in photography before they started their blog, so they are more likely to know more about cameras and what works well etc. If you're like me, that doesn't have any sort of creative background and have to learn everything from scratch, it's fine! The longer you do it for, the better you'll get, trust me!

I can honestly say that I am so glad I started my blog. However, my biggest regret is not starting it sooner when I really wanted to. I actually made this blog in January 2015, but didn't officially start posting or telling people that I have a blog until a year later. A WHOLE year! So another piece of great advice that you've probably never heard before, do what YOU want to do and do it when you want to. I'm pretty sure there is an actual quote that sounds a lot better but lets just go with that.

That leads me on nicely to something I have been getting up to in the last couple of weeks... This is something I have been wanting to do for absolute years, before I wanted to start a blog. Guess what, I didn't have the courage to do it. I was too scared about what people will think of me and whether it's too late to start. But looking back over the year at what I have achieved, again I wish I did this when I wanted to do it, not wait for the right time.

YouTube. Oh good old YouTube. I'm actually scared writing this. Why though? I seriously need to stop caring about what people will think, YouTube isn't a bad thing and everyone has got to start somewhere. I've been filming videos, editing them and putting them up onto my channel for the past couple of weeks, but of course they're on private. By the time this post goes up, I'm not sure if they will be made public.

If you wanna be the kindest person and check out my channel, I will love you forever. Let me know what you think I would love to know! (If the videos are public obvs). Just click here.

If you want to keep up to date with my YouTube journey, add me on Snapchat xoxo
