Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask

I have seen this mask posted EVERYWHERE. As soon as it was launched, bloggers and vloggers received one of each of the new masks from Body Shop. They spoke about them and wrote about them constantly. They wrote all the positives about each of the masks and raved about them (and people still do). Let's not lie, they sold it to me.

The main one that stuck out to me was the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask. Majority of the posts and videos I came across raved about this one the most. So I decided to do a little bit of research myself. I do tend to do look at the ingredients used in beauty products, especially face masks as they're not that cheap. So I like to ensure that what I am buying will actually work (or at the very least, not harm my skin). Even though I trust The Body Shop with all of their products and absolutely LOVE all of their products and have for so long. I mean, who still uses the body butters? I know I do! I still like to know what is going on my face.

The main 3 ingredients which they advertise are:
- Bamboo charcoal from the Himalayan Foothills
- Green tea leaves from Japan
- Community Trade Tea tree oil from Kenya.

All of them 3 ingredients are supposed to make your face look flawless basically. This face mask has the intention to draw out impurities and excess oils from the skin, effectively exfoliate the skin and help keep skin clearer looking which then reveals glow. After reading all of that and hearing so many good things about it, yea I bought it.

Personally, I feel like with face masks, it's best to try them out for at least a couple of weeks to see the real effect of them. So me and my boyfriend (yes he uses face masks) have been using this one for a couple of weeks now.

The first time I used it, I was seriously impressed! Normally, I use the cheap £1 face masks from Boots or Superdrug which do work. However I can honestly say that this face mask is 100 times better. Not gonna lie, I have never used a face mask from a high end company so I can't exactly compare it to the "top of the range". What I can say is that it's worth the money. We've used it about 8 times altogether, and we haven't even used a quarter of it!

But more importantly, the effects of it. On my face, it worked just the way it says really. I mean, don't expect that after one use you're going to have the most perfect skin, but my face was glowing, seemed cleaner, softer and my make up seems to look a lot better. The effect on my boyfriends face is what I was really shocked at. Yes, he does suffer from a form of acne and he has got really sensitive skin. The face mask made his face look brighter, healthier and cleaner. ALSO, for some reason, it dried out his problematic area (his chin, that's where he gets majority of his spots). Not horribly, but just a tad. And somehow, that area didn't look as red anymore. As normal, he did his evening cleansing routine and moisturised. His face just looked so much more healthy. So we carried on using it and after two weeks, no word of a lie, his skin has improved. It hasn't gotten rid of it completely, but every time he uses it now the spots appear to look smaller and not as red. It basically has worked wonders.

Overall, I am so pleased with this product and I am glad I bought it. I'm not saying that it will have the same effect on everyone, and no it hasn't gotten rid of the acne or anything, but it definitely has contributed towards cleansing and healing his skin. So why wouldn't I be impressed?!
