Effective and Affordable Night Time Routine




Being a student and taking care of your face can sometimes be quite tricky as products can be quite expensive. Not going to lie, I don't have a lot of money. Being a student and living away from home really teaches you how to manage your money. Apart from buying your own food and cleaning products, you also want to treat yourself to nice clothes, make up and other beauty products whilst feeling good. This is a routine I do and have been doing for the past year which I have really enjoyed and the effects are much better than you would expect.

Obviously, the first thing I do is take my make up off. I might've mentioned before in my Affordable Beauty Products You Need post that yes, I do use face wipes to do this step. Face wipes are so affordable, you know exactly how long they will last and I personally think that as long as you use other products afterwards, face wipes are just fine! One tip though, be gentle. That's when you can damage your skin or pull out eyelashes when taking off your mascara! 

After using face wipes, there still tends to be some make up left on your face that you may not be able to see. So I use the Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing face wash. I love this product because it actually does what it says! My skin feels so smooth, balanced (hopefully you know what I mean) and incredibly clean. I splash my face with hot water (opens up the pores), put a bit of the face wash on my exfoliating glove, exfoliate my face (gently), then rinse my face with hot water again then cold water to close the pores. This works wonders! 

Then I use the Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing Cleanser. I put a few drops on a cotton pad, run it across my whole face (avoiding eyes) but mostly concentrating on the nose area as thats where you get most blackheads. This is a very strong liquid so you have to use it gently but you can clearly see the difference even after one use! 

The next step I only do once a week, and that is face mask. I have two favourites: Along Came Betty Pure Pores Detox Mask and Star Glow Skin Polisher Face Mask. Both work amazing and both smell amazing, what more could you want?! The Pure Pores mask detoxes your face and minimises pores for a smoother finish whereas the Skin Polisher mask makes your face glow and smooth. I alternate between the two as I just love both of them. 

If I have already used a face mask in the week I skip the face mask step and go straight onto this step (I still do this step if I have put a face mask on). I use the Simple Kind to Skin Smoothing Facial Toner. As you can probably tell, I love simple products. They are so affordable and they don't contain any harmful chemicals, all natural, and that is what I mainly love about them. I put a few drops on a cotton pad and again, wipe my whole face with it. This just tones and soothes your face after all the other products used. 

Last but not least, the Simple Kind to Skin Vitamin Night Cream. This is a very thick cream and doesn't blend in your skin too well but if you're just going to bed it doesn't matter right? The effects are fab. I wake up in the morning and my skin just feels so soft it's insane. And yet again, very affordable.
